Dublin - An Introduction
THE CITY
Dublin is a growing suburb on the northwest corner of Columbus. It is an affluent, residential city of about 40,000 people, with a quaint "Historic Dublin" section and many newer neighborhoods surrounding the older section. The Scioto River runs through the center of Dublin, and at the north end of town, the O'Shaunnessey Reservoir features public boating ramps, a private sailing club, private homes, and the Columbus Zoo for year-round fun. Dublin has strict building codes which have resulted in gorgeous streetscapes, green space and walking trails in most neighborhoods, 38 parks, 8 golf courses.
Proud of it's link to the Irish, Dublin hosts an annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in March and a huge Irish Festival & Street Fair in August. The Muirfield Country Club hosts the PGA's Memorial Golf Tournament each Memorial Day weekend. Dublin has an outstanding public Recreation Center with pools (diving, lap swim, playground), racketball, theater, games, workout center and more. There are 2 outdoor city pools open during the summer. The Dublin Arts Council sponsors summer concerts, art shows and holiday community events throughout the year.
